lA Fundación se ubica en el sector sur de la ciudad costera de Antofagasta. Dentro de una población denominada Playa Blanca, muy cercana al mar, cuya orientación justamente tiene una orientación este-oeste, en un terreno de pequeñas dimensiones.
The fundation is located in the southern sector of the coastal city of Antofagasta. Within a town called Playa Blanca, very close to the sea, whose orientation is precisely east-west, on a small piece of land.

ENCARGO
El proyecto busca dar cabida a en 2 niveles el Centro de Investigaciones y de arquitectura, el cual requiere de espacios acordes a tales funciones.
PROPUESTA
Se propone un volumen unitario entre estos 2 pisos cuya materialidad está basada en el sistema de entramado de acero para conformar una estructura liviana y flexible sísmicamente. Espacialmente el proyecto se retranquea para generar un antejardín amplio y que al mismo tiempo genere una sombra, puesto que su fachada de acceso es de orientación este. Por otra parte, se considera la incorporación de un sistema espacial vertical denominado Lucernario, que conecta los 3 niveles mediantes el vacío, por donde se incorpora, la ventilación y la radiación controlada del sol.
LUCERNARIO
El lucernario por tanto se transforma en el espacio que organiza espacialmente el proyecto, que con su ubicación central dentro de la construcción permite establecer esa jerarquía como también de separar algunos espacios dentro de estas dos áreas: Investigación y taller de arquitectura, los que están unidos espacialmente pero de manera indirecta.
TERRAZAS-BALCÓN SUR
Se consideraron también el uso de terrazas y balcones, cuyo objetivo es generar una protección ambiental tanto en los recintos que están bajo estos, como de sus fachadas. Esto se realiza también en función de sus dos ámbitos en los que la casa se orienta, por un lado hacia la calle (en el 2° piso) y hacia el mar (en el 3° piso), configurando 2 escalas de relación, que existen en el contexto inmediato.
CHARGE
The project seeks to accommodate on 2 levels the Research and Architecture Center, which requires spaces according to such functions. PROPOSAL A unit volume is proposed between these 2 floors whose materiality is based on the steel framework system to form a light and seismically flexible structure. Spatially, the project is set back to generate a wide front garden and that at the same time generates a shadow, since its access facade is oriented east. On the other hand, the incorporation of a vertical spatial system called Skylight is considered, which connects the 3 levels by means of the vacuum, through which ventilation and controlled radiation from the sun are incorporated.
SKYLIGHT
The skylight therefore transforms into the space that spatially organizes the project, which with its central location within the construction allows establishing that hierarchy as well as separating some spaces within these two areas: Research and architecture workshop, which are united spatially but indirectly.
TERRACES-SOUTH BALCONY
The use of terraces and balconies were also considered, the objective of which is to generate environmental protection both in the enclosures that are under them, as well as on their facades. This is also done according to its two areas in which the house is oriented, on the one hand towards the street (on the 2nd floor) and towards the sea (on the 3rd floor), configuring 2 relationship scales, which they exist in the immediate context.
